Jerry Yang WINS WORLD SERIES OF POKER\'S MAIN EVENT; TAKES HOME $8.25 MILLION2007 World Series of PokerĀ® Draws More than 54,000 Entrants, the Largest WSOP in History\n\nThe 2007 World Series of Poker will be culminating on Tuesday, July 17 with the $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold\'em World Championship -- the Main Event. The final table will begin at noon.\n\nThe prize pool for this year\'s Main Event is $59,784,954. The winner will receive $8.25 million and a total of 621 event players will finish in the money, receiving at least $20,320. With 6,358 entries, this year\'s Main Event is the second-largest live poker tournament ever played. Due to the size of the event playing field, the tournament\'s start was spread over four days, beginning July 6.\n\nIn all, the 2007 WSOP presented by Milwaukee\'s Best Light attracted 54,288 total registrants, the most in World Series of Poker history, and generated a total prize pool of $159,796,918.\n\nThe WSOP is the richest sporting event on the planet, with the total prize pool larger than the Indy 500, the Kentucky Derby, the Masters and Wimbledon combined.
