Craig reluctantly learnt to swim aged seven. His mum was concerned that he would grow up not being able to swim, so she took him to swimming lessons. After a few classes he really started to enjoy it and then he was in his element!Craig travelled to the World Championships in Melbourne last Spring, his first at senior level. His biggest achievement to date is winning gold at the World School Games in 2003 in the 100m freestyle. Craig is incredibly determined and focused on his swimming career -- since he was young he has been in the pool by 6am, six days a week to get to where he is now. He has been aiming for the Olympics since he was 10 years old. His coach at the time asked everyone to write down their swimming goals and Craig was the only one to say \'compete at the Olympics\'.
